【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationappliestothoseelastomericcellularmaterialsofafirmgradethataremanufacturedinpreformedshapesforuseasgasketsandforuseassealingmaterials,intheformofcompressionsealsorgaskets,orboth,forglazingotherbuildingjointapplications.Note18212;Forsoftercellularelastomericmaterialsusedinsecondarysealingapplications,refertoSpecificationD1056.1.2TestMethodC1166,asreferencedinthisspecification,shouldbeusedtomeasureanddescribethepropertiesofmaterials,products,orassembliesinresponsetoheatandflameundercontrolledlaboratoryconditionsandshouldnotbeusedtodescribeorappraisethefirehazardorfireriskofmaterials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.However,resultsofthistestmaybeusedaselementsofafireriskassessmentwhichtakesintoaccountallofthefactorswhicharepertinenttoanassessmentofthefirehazardofaparticularenduseThefollowingprecautionarycaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodportion,Section,ofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.3Thecommitteewithjurisdictionoverthisstandardisnotawareofanycomparablestandardspublishedbyotherorganizations.1.4Thistestmethodisintendedtodeterminetheabilityofcompoundsmadefromrubberorrubber-likematerialstoresisttheeffectoflowtemperaturesthatmaycausethemtobecomebrittleandfractureorcrackwhenbent.Standardspecimensareexposedtospecifiedlowtemperaturesfordefiniteperiodsafterwhichthespecimensarebentinaprescribedmannerandanyfractureorcrackingnoted.Theprocedureiscommonlycalledthe"Thiokol"method.Note1Resultsobtainedbythistestmethodareinfluencedbytherateofflexingofthecooledspecimenswhichcannotbecloselycontrolledintheprescribedapparatus.Theyarethereforeofaqualitativenatureandmaynotbecloselyreproducibleoverarangeofseveraldegreesoftemperaturedependingonthespeedofflexure.Formoreaccuratedeterminationofbrittletemperature,andparticularlyinnewspecifications,TestMethodD746isrecommended.
