【摘要】:Thisguideaddressesmeansofconductingfull-scalefireexperimentsthatevaluatethefire-test-responsecharacteristicsofmaterials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.Itisintendedasaguideforthedesignoftheexperimentandfortheuseandinterpretationofitsresults.Theguideisalsousefulforestablishinglaboratoryconditionsthatsimulateagivensetoffireconditionstothegreatestextentpossible.Thisguideallowsuserstoobtainfire-test-responsecharacteristicsofmaterials,products,orassemblies,whichareusefuldatafordescribingorappraisingtheirfireperformanceunderactualfireconditions.Theresultsofexperimentsconductedinaccordancewiththisguidearealsousefulelementsformakingregulatorydecisionsregardingfiresafetyrequirements.Theuseforregulatorypurposesofdataobtainedfromexperimentsconductedusingthisguiderequiresthatcertainconditionsandcriteriabespecifiedbytheregulatingauthority.Therationaleforconductingroomfireexperimentsinaccordancewiththisguideisshownin1.5-1.8Roomfireexperimentsareameansofgeneratinginputdataforcomputerfiremodelsandforprovidingoutputdatawithwhichtocomparemodelingresults.Oneofthemajorreasonsforconductingroomfireexperimentsisasanexperimentalmeansofassessingthepotentialfirehazardassociatedwiththeuseofamaterialorproductinaparticularapplication.Thisshouldbeborneinmindwhendesigningnonstandardexperiments.Arationaleforconductingroomfireexperimentsisthecasewhensmaller-scalefiretestsinadequatelyrepresentend-useapplications.Afurtherrationaleforconductingroomfireexperimentsistoverifytheresultsobtainedwithsmallerscaletests,tounderstandthescalingparametersforsuchtests.Roomfiretestscanbeplacedintofourmaincategories:reconstruction,simulation,research,andstandardization.Thisstandardisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditionsThisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
